Did You Know?
Recovery Position
After providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the victim resumes breathing and has a stable pulse, he or she is placed in a recovery position. The victim is placed on his or her side (if the victim has an injury to one side of the chest, rest him or her on the unaffected side), with one arm above the head. This facilitates good blood flow back to the heart and effecting chest expansion for breathing. It also prevents aspiration in case of vomiting.
Learn about the recovery position and much more by registering for a CPR certificate course in Lethbridge with Lethbridge First Aid.
